![]() The Hive Mind grows increasingly desperate and starts slinging explosive clusters at Isaac after a time.Īccording to the Youtube channel FP Good Game, removing the eye clusters causes the Hive Mind to send Necromorph Slasher minions onto the platform, giving the player time to slow things down while taking out enemies and collecting supplies. The player's objective revolves around dealing enough damage with their weapons in Dead Space Remaketo destroy every cluster. Five glowing yellow eye clusters indicate weak spots on the Hive Mind, a similar experience to the Leviathan boss in Chapter 6. But nope, you just have to keep damaging it until it suddenly explodes at the end of the fight, all-the-while receiving no in-game indications that you're making progress. When the initial cinematic introduces players to the Hive Mind, they are thrust into battle as the creature slams tentacles into the platform as its primary attack. I had to pause and go look up the fight because I thought I was doing something wrong. So if it's your first time playing, you have no idea if you're even damaging it. Lastly, the marker "heart" does not appear to reflect damage like the other yellow soft spots in the game. Then the next attempt I would literally not get a single health pack after killing 50+ of them. On some attempts, I would receive 2 medium health packs in a row. Then during the fight, you are completely at the mercy of the shadow pack and their resource-dropping RNG. In this one, you arrive at the boss fight after depleting everything you have while running from the regenerator and his never-ending lackies. DS1 gave you a ton of resources right before the final boss fight to prepare you. ![]() Won't be a popular opinion on this sub but this boss fight was atrocious - as was the run-up to it while the regenerator (name?) chases you.
